I am also excited about the fast search you mention, as Synaptic is starting to annoy me with it's extra slow searches. One thing, in the status column for packages, i think there should be an option to display images instead of letters, so it is more clear (like Synaptic has currently) Apart from that WELL DONE! Looks great!
